Australia's favourite comedy double act, Lano & Woodley, perform their hilarious show 'In Space' at the Civic Theatre.
Lano & Woodley bring their new show In Space to the Civic Theatre on Saturday 29 August, part of their 2026 Australian tour. The duo is Colin Lane and Frank Woodley, two names that have been working together for over thirty years. They first teamed up in 1986 as part of a three-hander called The Found Objects, and officially became Lano & Woodley in 1994 with a show at Melbourne's Carlton Courthouse. That one won the Perrier Award for best comedy in Edinburgh, which made them only the second Australian act ever to take it.
Their live shows have been a staple of the Australian comedy scene for decades, admired by audiences and critics alike and cited as an influence by generations of comedians who followed. In Space is directed by Eddie Perfect and centres on two men trapped alone in a spaceship. Much of the comedy comes from the physical routines they're known for, alongside the love-hate bickering that's defined their partnership since the early days. It's a simple premise โ two people stuck together with nowhere to go โ that lets them lean into the timing and the physical comedy that's their trademark.

They describe the show as part sublime, part stupid, and all heart, which pretty much sums up the Lano & Woodley approach: a mix of carefully worked physical bits and the sort of bickering that feels like watching two old mates who can't quite stand each other. If you've seen them before, it'll feel familiar; if you haven't, it's a good place to start with their style. Tickets range from A$59 to A$75, and the show runs at the Civic Theatre on 29 August.
