A weekend raceday celebrating fashion and elegance with horse racing, the Fashions on the Field competition, and a Shania Twain tribute show.
Ladies Day returns to Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday 19 September, a raceday where fashion takes centre stage and elegance is the order of the day. It's one of the more stylish moments of the Spring Racing Carnival, and it's built around the horse racing on the track and the outfits on the lawn.
Everyone gets a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival, and the day's style is decided on the Ascot Lawn with Fashions on the Field, hosted by local face Jane Goldsmith. The judging panel is headed by fashion stylist Kate Kohler, with Dean and Mitch from The Boys Studio and 2026 Faces of the Hunter Selina and Ben joining her. Once the racing is over, the party keeps going with a live Australian Shania Twain Tribute Show, running from You're Still the One to From This Moment on.
There are a few ways to do the day. The Pavilion is A$99 per person and includes a three-hour champagne and beer drinks package with a jukebox. The Terraces is also A$99 per person for a group of six, which gets you your own terrace with bar service and food platters. There's also the Trackside Marquee if you're after something else.

It's a long day, so you'll want to time it right: gates open at 11:00 am, the first race is at 12:45 pm, and the last one goes off at 5:00 pm. The whole thing runs from 11:30 am to 7:00 pm, with the Shania Twain tribute taking over after the final race.
