Live concert featuring Hot Chocolate fronted by Kennie Simon, alongside The Radiators, DV8, The Filthy Animals and The Viper Creek Band at The Station Newcastle.
Hot Chocolate are playing The Station on Sunday 18 October, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It's an outdoor concert presented by GENR8 Entertainment and NEWFM, and the bill is built around Kennie Simon, who's fronted Hot Chocolate for more than 16 years. He'll be taking '16 Years of Hits' with the band, singing classics like 'You Sexy Thing', 'Every 1's a Winner', 'Emma' and 'It Started with a Kiss'.
He's not the only act on the bill. Joining him are Australian rock legends The Radiators, who've played over 6,000 live shows across more than 45 years and have shared stages with AC/DC, INXS and Rose Tattoo. Newcastle's own DV8 are also on the lineup, continuing their high-energy blues-rock sound. Then there's The Filthy Animals, billed as Australia's ultimate rock supergroup, drawing on current and former members of Dragon, Mondo Rock, Wolfmother, Choirboys, The Superjesus, John Butler Trio and Savage Garden. Rounding it out is The Viper Creek Band, one of Australia's premier country-rock acts, with a #1 ARIA Country Album and over 10 million streams.

It's a long day of music, running from midday through to 8:00 pm, and since it's outdoors, you'll want to come prepared for the weather. There are food vans and fully licensed bars onsite, and the whole site is wheelchair accessible. The Station is on the corner of Scott and Watt Streets in Newcastle, so it's easy enough to get to. With five acts across the afternoon, it's more of a full-day thing than a quick gig, so keep that in mind when you're planning your Sunday.
