Country music artist Fanny Lumsden performs live with her band The Daddies as part of her Traditions tour, promoting her fifth studio album.
Fanny Lumsden plays the Stag & Hunter Hotel on Sunday 29 November, as part of the launch tour for her fifth studio album, Traditions. She'll be on stage with her band, The Daddies, and the Newcastle date is one of the stops on the tour following the record's release on 30 October.
Traditions was recorded live with her band and producer Steven Schram at Soundpark Studios in Melbourne, so the tour set will be built around that same live energy. Lumsden is a two-time ARIA, ten-time Golden Guitar, and three-time AIR award winner who built her career the old-fashioned way: long drives, country halls, and years taking her songs directly to regional audiences. She grew up on a western NSW sheep farm and has toured with Paul Kelly and Lucinda Williams, earning her the description 'one of the genre's most esteemed performers' from The Australian.
Beyond the music, she's a volunteer firefighter, a farmer on her family property in the Snowy Mountains, and a documentary filmmaker, and she runs her own label and production company, Red Dirt Road. She was named Australian of the Year locally and is known to her fans as 'ONLY FANS'. The tour stops acknowledge the traditional lands of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples in Newcastle.
