Exhibition of ceramics and paintings by Judith Hill and Sandra Burgess, exploring echoes of past conversations and experiences.
Judith Hill and Sandra Burgess are showing together at Back to Back Galleries in Cooks Hill, with the exhibition opening on Friday 31 July. It's called Echoes, and it brings together ceramics and paintings from both artists.
The title gives you the best steer on what's on the walls and on the plinths. Hill and Burgess describe the work as patterns, shapes and colours drawn from past conversations and experiences. It's a joint show, so you'll see ceramics and paintings side by side rather than in separate rooms. If you're into how different mediums can play off each other, that's the main thing to look for here.
The venue is Back to Back Galleries, the Newcastle Studio Potters gallery room at 57 Bull St, Cooks Hill. It's a space that holds regular, changing exhibitions of local handcrafted pottery, and it's also available for hire if you're looking for a spot to show your own work. The gallery shop acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Awabakal and Worimi Peoples, and pays respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
