Celtic Thunder return to the Civic Theatre for a heartfelt celebration of their most beloved songs, spanning Irish classics, powerful ballads and soaring anthems.
Celtic Thunder return to the Civic Theatre on Saturday 20 March, their first date in Newcastle since their last Australian tour. The show is called An Intimate Evening with Celtic Thunder, and it's a hand-picked selection of the songs that have made them a household name, rather than a full-scale production. The set pulls from their most beloved material, running through Irish classics, powerful ballads and soaring anthems, all delivered with the signature voices and harmonies the group is known for.
Longtime Principal Damian McGinty fronts the group for this tour, and he describes the show as a chance to reconnect with the music and the fans in a more intimate way. That's the core of it: the set is built around the songs they're most associated with, the ones that have stayed with them over the years. It's a celebration of the music and the moments that have defined them, and the focus is on the singing.
