Newcastle Writers Festival Spring Program event featuring a conversation with celebrated British writer Andrew O'Hagan, interviewed by Rosemarie Milsom.
Andrew O'Hagan is coming to the Newcastle City Library on Wednesday 14 October, for a conversation that forms part of the Newcastle Writers Festival Spring Program. He'll be in the Lovett Gallery from 6:30 to 7:30pm, and the night is hosted by Rosemarie Milsom, who is the director of Adelaide Writers' Week and the founding director of the Newcastle Writers Festival.
O'Hagan is one of Britain's most celebrated writers, and the numbers back that up: three Booker Prize nominations and the E.M. Forster Prize. He's also the Editor at Large of the London Review of Books. His novel Mayflies was adapted by the BBC, and Caledonian Roadโa Sunday Times bestsellerโhas been hailed as a contemporary masterpiece. It follows art historian Campbell Flynn through a London shaped by immense wealth, social division, political intrigue and moral uncertainty.
The evening is part of the Newcastle Writers Festival Spring Program, and the festival itself is in its 14th edition, with its 15th anniversary coming in 2027. That means the festival has been running in the city for over a decade now, and this is one of the names it's bringing in for the spring season.
