Concert by the five-piece indie-rock band Winyah, with support from Quarters of Change, at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville.
Winyah play Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Saturday, December 12, with support from Quarters of Change. It's a double bill that brings together a South Carolina five-piece and a New York City quartet, both leaning into the louder end of indie rock.
Winyah is fronted by Thomas Rowland, whose voice and the band's guitar work carry a raw, restless fire. They trade in southern swagger and indie-rock bite, and they've already played Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. They sold out their first headline tour and are currently working on a sophomore album, so this stop comes while they're still building toward that next release.
Quarters of Change opens the night. The New York quartet consists of Ben Acker, Attila Anrather, Jasper Harris, and Ben Roter, and their 2023 album Portraits (300 Entertainment) drew on 1990s alt-rock, space-rock, and 1970s grooves. It was produced by Grammy-winning producers Mikey Freedom Hart and Dave Tozer.
