A free local open mic stand-up comedy night hosted by Joshua Lewis with house band The Grey Grays, open to local comedians.
Ultimate Comedy is back at The East Room this Tuesday, October 13, for another round of its weekly open mic. It's a free stand-up night that runs every Tuesday, hosted by Josh Lewis and backed by house band The Grey Grays. The whole thing is built around giving local comedians a place to get on stage and try out new material, so you're seeing bits in their rawest form rather than a polished set.
If you're coming to perform, the logistics are straightforward: doors open at 7 PM, and sign-ups run from 7 PM to 8 PM. You put your name in a hat, and at 8 PM, they draw names to decide who gets a spot on the bill. You have to be there to accept your slot, so don't plan on dropping your name and disappearing until the show starts. If you're just coming to watch, you can skip the hat and just show up for the comedy.
The show itself kicks off at 8:30 PM. With a house band on hand and a lineup drawn from the room, it's a bit different from a standard club set. The East Room bills itself as "East Nashville's Favorite Place for Local Music, Comedy, Etc," and this night fits right into that—it's a local room for local performers, and the open-mic format means you'll see a mix of people you might recognize and names you've never heard before.

It's free, the room is 18+, and it's at 2412 Gallatin Ave in East Nashville. Doors open at 7 PM, sign-ups run 7 to 8 PM, the drawing is at 8 PM, and the show starts at 8:30 PM.
