A family-friendly Halloween tradition with trick-or-treat stations, crafts, hayrides, face painting and a costume contest.
Trick-or-Treat at Belle Meade returns to the Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery on Sunday, October 25, from 1 PM to 4 PM. It's an annual Halloween tradition on the grounds of the historic estate, and it's built for families to spend a few hours outdoors. The main draw is a trail of candy stations that you follow across the property, so the kids can collect treats without leaving the site.
Beyond the candy, there's a good bit to do. You can make Halloween crafts at the Carriage House and take a hayride around the grounds. Therapy pets, carnival-style games, a hay maze, and harvest-themed photo areas fill out the rest of the afternoon, so it's easy to linger between the stations. Costumes are encouraged, and family or group looks are welcome. Just a heads-up on the dress code: adults can't wear full-face masks or excessively scary costumes.
If you've spent any time around the estate, you might know a bit of the history. The site sits on the land of the former Belle Meade Plantation. In 1926, Luke Lea donated 868 acres to the City of Nashville, and the grounds opened the following year as Percy Warner Park.
