Tribute concert to Marshall Tucker Band's Toy Caldwell, featuring Paul T. Riddle, Marcus King, Oteil Burbridge, Charlie Starr, and Josh Shilling, with Sam Bush and Jimmy Rector.
The Toy Factory Project plays two nights at the Ryman Auditorium on Monday, December 28 and Tuesday, December 29, 2026, both starting at 7:30 PM. It's a tribute to Toy Caldwell, the late co-founder of the Marshall Tucker Band, put together by Paul T. Riddle, the Grammy-winning drummer and original MTB co-founder who played alongside him.
Rather than just recreating the original group, Riddle assembled a lineup of musicians shaped by the Southern rock, blues, country, and jam traditions Caldwell helped build. The core group features Marcus King on guitar, steel guitar, and vocals; Oteil Burbridge on bass and vocals; Charlie Starr on guitar and vocals; and Josh Shilling on piano, organ, and vocals. For these Ryman dates, the ensemble expands to include fiddler and mandolinist Sam Bush and percussionist Jimmy Rector. It's a heavy-hitting collection of names, and the addition of Bush and Rector brings in the fiddle and mandolin that fit right into the Southern rock and bluegrass crossover Caldwell's work often touched.

The project made its live debut at the 2025 Telluride Bluegrass Festival and played February 2026 dates at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, before heading south again. The tour also stops in Spartanburg, the birthplace of the original Marshall Tucker Band, and at Atlanta's Fox Theatre on New Year's Eve. These two Nashville nights sit right in the middle of that run, so if you're around the city between Christmas and New Year's, it's a good time to catch them. Both shows start at 7:30 PM.
