Live performance by the American bluegrass and rock band TopHouse at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville.
TopHouse play Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Friday, February 12, 2027. It's a single-bill night, so they're the only act on the marquee.
If you haven't come across them yet, TopHouse is an American band that started in 2015, founded by guitarist and songwriter Jesse Davis and violinist William Cook. Lead singer and guitar/banjo player Joseph Larson joined in 2017, and pianist Andy LaFave came on board in 2022. They first built their following in their hometown of Missoula, where the Missoulian named them one of the top five best new bands two years running, before they moved here to Nashville in October 2019. Since then, they've landed a local residency and got airplay on Lightning 100.
They describe themselves as fast-paced, high-energy foot stompers whose ballads can make you cry, and the sound is something like a rock band married old-fashioned bluegrass and had a baby. That mix of rock and bluegrass is a good way to frame itβthe high-energy side is for dancing, and the ballads are for when the room settles down. With a violinist, a banjo, and a piano in the mix alongside the guitars, there's a fair bit of ground they can cover in one set.
