Stephen Day, a soul and R&B singer-songwriter, performs his self-titled album live at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville, with special guest Emily Brimlow.
Stephen Day brings his self-titled tour to Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Saturday, October 24. He's a Georgia native now living here in Nashville, and the show comes on the heels of his self-titled album, which dropped October 2. The record pulls from soul, R&B, rock'n'roll, and pop, and Day lists Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, and Frank Sinatra as inspirations.
It was co-produced by Micah Tawlks and multi-GRAMMY winner Ian Fitchuk, and tracked live in the studio with Matt Chancey on bass, David Crutcher on keys, Ian Fitchuk on drums, Kevin Daily on auxiliary guitar, and Scooter Spicer on percussion. The album follows his 2015 debut EP, Undergrad Romance And The Moses In Me, and has passed 200 million streams, with cultural co-signs from Teddy Swims, Allen Stone, and Cory Wong, and a sync in the film Strays. Day credits his mother, a nurse practitioner who sang at church, as the spark that led him to the guitar.
Opening the night is Emily Brimlow, a pop-soul singer-songwriter whose album FLOWERCHILD (Ineffable Records) has been featured in Grey's Anatomy and in North Face documentaries.
