Parachute celebrates the 15th anniversary of their album 'The Way It Was', joined by Nashville singer-songwriter Matt Wertz.
Matt Wertz plays Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Monday, November 23, sharing the bill with Parachute. It's a double bill with two Nashville connections on one stage: Wertz is a local singer-songwriter who's been based here for years, and Parachute is the Charlottesville pop-rock band known for the platinum-selling "She Is Love."
For Parachute, the night is a specific anniversary. They're celebrating 15 years of The Way It Was, one of their three main albums alongside Losing Sleep (2009) and Overnight. The show is built around that record, so expect the set to lean heavily on those songs.
Wertz is marking a different milestone. He's been making music for 25 years, starting with his debut album in 2001. Since then he's put out more than a dozen albums, logged over 200 million streams, and toured with Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw and Ben Rector. 2026 was the 10th anniversary of his album Gun Shy, and it's also the year he started releasing new music for the first time since becoming a father. He's got a new full-length album planned for 2027, so this is one of the first times he's back on stage with new material in the mix.
