Stand-up comedy tour by Nurse Blake about the wildest things patients and their families say and do.
Nurse Blake brings his But Did You Die? tour to the Polk Theater on Monday, November 2, at 7 PM. The show is a stand-up set built around the wildest things patients and their families say and do, told from the perspective of someone who's actually been in the room.
Blake Lynch is a registered nurse, and that's where the material comes from. He earned his degree from the University of Central Florida in 2014 and has worked in Level 1 trauma centers across the country, so he's spent a lot of time on the front lines of healthcare. Before the comedy, he served as president of the Florida Nursing Student Association and founded Banned4Life in 2013, an advocacy movement that helped end the FDA's lifetime blood donation ban for gay men.
His comedy career started when he began sharing nursing humor on social media, and he was one of the first to turn the day-to-day nursing experience into viral content. From there, the live shows grew quickly: his 2022 PTO Comedy Tour expanded from 14 to 55 cities, and his 2023 Shock Advised Comedy Tour hit 100. He's also built a community around the profession outside the stage, founding NurseCon at Sea, a nursing conference on a cruise ship, and Camp NurseCon, a wellness retreat for nurses at Camp Equinunk.
