After-hours Halloween party at the Parthenon with vinyl DJ sets, costume contests, tarot readings, themed cocktails and a late-night tour.
The Parthenon opens its doors after hours on Friday, October 30, for Night at the Museum: Halloween at the Parthenon, a party that lets you inside the building when it's normally closed. The Centennial Park Conservancy presents the evening, which runs from 8 PM to midnight.
DJ Guy Fell and DJ Anthony Poli are on the decks, both playing vinyl sets. The music is the main draw, but there's a fair amount to do around the dance floor: tarot readings, a photobooth, and local vendors. Food and themed cocktails are available throughout the night, and drinks are $3 from 8 to 9 PM. Costumes are strongly encouraged, and a contest crowns Best Solo and Best Couple.
One of the more specific additions is a late-night tour that leans into the darker Greek myths and stories connected to the building. It's a good way to see the place from a different angle than the usual daytime visit, and it fits the Halloween theme. The whole night is for adults only, 21 and over, and proceeds go toward the sustainability of Centennial Park and the Parthenon.
