A candlelight haunted evening of Halloween classics performed by the Listeso String Quartet at The Parthenon.
Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics comes to The Parthenon on Sunday, October 25, with the Listeso String Quartet taking the stage. It's a Halloween special that pairs classical pieces with spooky pop-culture themes, all played by a string quartet under the glow of candlelight.
The program pulls from a long list of horror and dark fantasy films: Thriller, The Exorcist, Beetlejuice, The Addams Family, Halloween, Psycho, Ghostbusters, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Hearing those themes played by a string quartet in a candlelit room puts a different spin on them than the original soundtracks.
The venue is one of the city's most distinct spots. The Parthenon is a 500-capacity historic building and art museum in Centennial Park, and it's the world's only full-scale replica of the ancient Greek temple, with a 42-foot Athena statue inside. It's a regular home for unique events, and this one fits right in.
