Mystic Mermaids Under the Sea Show

The Mystic Mermaids Under the Sea Show is on at The Downtown Aquarium on Monday, October 12. It's part of a Friday night series, so if you're planning a trip, keep in mind that the mermaids perform in the Under the Sea exhibit starting at 6:30 PM. The show itself runs about 10 minutes, with music and dance, and the aquarium's mascot, Sharkey, pops up at many of the events. If you want to get closer, there are Meet & Greet sessions in the Stingray Reef from 5:15 to 5:45 PM and again from 7:15 to 7:45 PM.

There's also a way to watch from a table: the show runs in the Aquarium Restaurant at 5:30 PM or 7:30 PM, but you'll need to book your table in advance for that one. The aquarium is at 516 Opry Mills Dr., Nashville, TN 37214.

If you're visiting with kids, there's more to do around the building than just the mermaid show. The aquarium runs educational programs for school-age children, like 'Marine Biologist for a Day' and 'Zoologist for a Day,' and hosts 'Low Sensory Morning' sessions for visitors with sensory processing disorders. During the summer, they have camps like 'Sea Safari Summer Camp' and 'Marine Science STEAM Camp,' and they even do 'Wild Dreams' sleepover parties. The mermaids are just one part of what's going on there.
