A drop-in workshop where visitors create a printing plate and print their own postcard using a circa-1940s proof press at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is hosting a family program, Make a Postcard with Hatch Show Print, on Saturday, October 24, from 1 PM to 3 PM. It's a drop-in activity, so you don't have to be there right at the start to join in.
The session is all about the hands-on side of letterpress printing. You'll use a simple wooden stylus to carve your own printing plate, and with the guidance of museum educators, you'll run it through a circa-1940s proof press to print your own postcard. If you've ever wondered how those classic Hatch Show Print posters come together, this is a chance to do a version of it yourself. The postcard you make is yours to send to a friend.
There's a second part to the afternoon that goes beyond your own card. You can also write a postcard to active-duty troops overseas through A Million Thanks, a nonprofit that supports military members and their families. It's a small thing that lets you send a bit of Nashville to someone far from home.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Nashville and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The program is open to all ages, so it works as a family outing or just something to do on a Saturday afternoon. It's held in the Taylor Swift Education Center at 222 Rep. John Lewis Way S, inside the museum. The activity is included with museum admission and is free for members. It runs from 1 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, October 24.
