A group fitness line dancing session led by a Downtown YMCA instructor at Church Street Park, suitable for all ages.
Line Dancing is back at Church Street Park on Saturday, October 18, for a one-hour outdoor class. It's a group fitness session led by a Downtown YMCA instructor who walks everyone through a mix of dances from the past and present, so you'll get a bit of the old and the new in the same hour. The whole thing is free, and you don't need to be a pro to join in.
This is part of a larger series of sessions programmed by the Nashville Downtown Partnership in collaboration with Metro Parks Nashville and powered by Amazon. It's not just a one-off, either. The program ran through the spring with classes every Wednesday in April and May—April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, and May 13—and this October date is one of the few times it returns to the park this half of the year. If you missed the spring run, this is a good chance to catch it.
Since it's outdoors, the sessions only run weather permitting, so it's worth keeping an eye on the forecast before you head downtown. For the most current updates, the organizers post to the @churchstreetpark Instagram stories, which is the best place to check if the weather looks shaky.
