A free, hands-on outdoor recreation workshop for all ages to learn and practice handy knots for everyday outdoor tasks.
Knot Tying 101 is coming to Shelby Bottoms Nature Center on Thursday, October 15, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. It's a free, hands-on workshop run by the center through Metro Outdoor Recreation, and it's open to all ages, so you can bring the kids along if you're heading out with the family.
Krista Allen from Metro Outdoor Recreation is leading the session, and the focus is on the kind of knots that actually come up when you're outside. You'll learn how to secure gear to a car, tie down a tent, and adjust rope tension on the flyโthe sort of practical things that make a difference when you're camping or hauling equipment. It's a focused, interactive setting, so you'll be practicing as you go rather than just watching someone else do it.
