Weekend harvest-themed activity at Cheekwood with food trucks, seasonal brews and live music from regional bands.
Cheekwood is hosting Harvest Weekends on Saturday, October 17, and again on Saturday, October 24. It's an outdoor celebration of fall with food from some of Nashville's favorite food trucks, seasonal brews, and live music from regional bands. The music is the main draw, and the lineup for the first weekend features two different acts on two different days.
On Saturday, October 17, MERJ plays from 12 PM to 2 PM. He's a Nashville musician who writes his own original material and works across jazz, blues, and funk. If you're into those styles, his set should give you a good sense of how he blends them. The following day, Sunday, October 18, Tim Gartland takes over from 12 PM to 2 PM. He's a roots and blues harmonica player who traces his start back to seeing Muddy Waters live when he was 13, and he's since put out six critically acclaimed solo albums. Between the two, you've got a jazz-funk leaning set on Saturday and a harmonica-led blues set on Sunday.

Both performances run from 12 PM to 2 PM, so they're midday affairs rather than evening shows. They're part of the larger Harvest Weekends series, which brings together the food trucks, the seasonal brews, and the live music in an outdoor setting at Cheekwood, located at 1200 Forrest Park Dr in Nashville. If you're looking for a way to spend a fall afternoon with some food and music, this is a solid place to start. MERJ plays Saturday, October 17, and Tim Gartland follows on Sunday, October 18, both from 12 PM to 2 PM.
