A family-friendly Halloween program at the Country Music Hall of Fame where visitors create masks, design candy pails, and contribute to a collaborative art project.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is hosting its Halloween Hootenanny on Saturday, October 31, from 1 PM to 3 PM. It's part of the museum's family programming, and they've set it up as a way to lean into the spooky and silly side of the season. The whole thing takes place at the Taylor Swift Education Center, located at 222 Rep. John Lewis Way S in downtown Nashville.
There are three main activities to work through during the session. First, you'll make a festive mask to wear. Then, you'll design a candy pail for gathering treats. Finally, you'll contribute to a collaborative art project that everyone works on together. The museum describes the format as educational and family-friendly, and they've made it open to all ages, so it works whether you're bringing small kids or just want to spend a couple of hours crafting on Halloween afternoon.
The Hootenanny is one of several family programs the museum runs throughout the year, and it's designed to be a drop-in kind of thing rather than a formal class. You can move through the different projects at your own pace, and the collaborative art piece means you're adding your part to something larger that the whole group builds together over the course of the session.
