A laid-back, family-friendly beer garden series with food trucks, yard games and live music at Shelby Park, run by Friends of Shelby Park.
Fridays by the River is back at Shelby Park on Friday, October 16, from 3 PM to 8 PM. It's a pop-up beer garden that returns each fall to the Riverview Pavilion, run by Friends of Shelby Park in partnership with East Nashville Beer Works, who handle the taps. The whole thing is free to enter, and it's built for families and neighbors to hang out together.
On the day, you'll find draft beer from East Nashville Beer Works, food trucks, live music, and yard games. It's a laid-back setup: grab a drink, find a spot in the pavilion, and let the afternoon stretch out. If you're a member of Friends of Shelby Park, you get $1 off your beer. Pets are welcome as long as they're on a leash no longer than six feet.
There's a point to the beer and food, too. A portion of those sales goes to Friends of Shelby Park, so your drinks help support the park and the surrounding Bottoms. Because it's a fundraiser, they don't allow outside food or drink—everything you'll want is right there on-site.

This is one of several dates in the series, which runs on select Fridays in September and October. The other 2026 dates were September 11, 18, and 25, and October 2 and 9. October 16 is one of the final ones of the season, so if you've been meaning to stop by, this is a good time to do it. It runs from 3 PM to 8 PM at the Riverview Pavilion in Shelby Park, and admission is free.
