A family-friendly workshop where young designers personalise paper instruments at the Country Music Hall of Fame, inspired by the museum's collection.
Embellished Instruments is a family program at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on Friday, October 9, from 10 AM to 12 PM. It's a drop-in activity, so you can just show up whenever you're ready during that window rather than committing to a set start time.
The session is all about imagining your own design for a paper guitar cutout. The idea is to draw inspiration from the stylized instruments on view in the Museum galleries, where you'll find plenty of examples to work from. One of the most recognizable is Taylor Swift's Swarovski crystal-encrusted Taylor acoustic guitar, which is exactly the kind of thing this activity is nodding toward—instruments that are as much about the look as they are about the music.
It's an all-ages session, so it works just as well for kids as it does for adults who want to spend a morning decorating. You'll be working in the Taylor Swift Education Center, located at 222 Rep. John Lewis Way S, inside the Museum.

As for the cost, it's a drop-in activity included with Museum admission, and it's free for Museum members. The Museum itself is run by the non-profit Country Music Foundation, which focuses on identifying and preserving the history and traditions of country music and educating its audiences. It functions as both a local history museum and an international arts organization, serving fans, students, scholars, and music-industry professionals. General membership is its foundation of support, and members get an inside connection that includes invites to exclusive performances and programs, discounted tours of Hatch Show Print and Historic RCA Studio B, CMA Theater presale opportunities, and shopping and dining deals. The session runs from 10 AM to 12 PM on Friday, October 9.
