Extreme metal night featuring Dying Fetus and Sanguisugabogg, with supporting acts Crowbar, Left To Suffer and Deterioration.
Dying Fetus headline Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Thursday, October 22, with Sanguisugabogg, Crowbar, Left To Suffer, and Deterioration rounding out the bill. It's a heavy night that pulls from a few different corners of the extreme metal world.
Dying Fetus have been at this since 1991, when John Gallagher co-founded the band. They blend death metal, grindcore, and hardcore, and they've kept that sound going for over three decades. Their 2000 album Destroy the Opposition earned a spot in Decibel's Hall of Fame, and back in 2014, they played the Download Festival after a fan-driven hashtag campaign. Sanguisugabogg come from Ohio, having emerged from their 2019 EP Pornographic Seizures before signing to Century Media. Their 2021 record Tortured Whole and 2023's Homicidal Ecstasy are often cited as benchmarks of modern death metal.
Crowbar bring the sludge from New Orleans. Formed in 1990 and fronted by Kirk Windstein, they were among the pioneers of the style. Left To Suffer rose from Atlanta with A Year of Suffering, and Deterioration—brothers Jim and Joe Kahmann—have been a grindcore force for nearly a quarter century. Between the death metal, the sludge, and the grind, the bill covers a lot of ground.
