Demon Hunter performs live on their Storm the Gates of Hell 20th Anniversary Tour at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville.
Demon Hunter play Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Thursday, October 29, as part of their Storm the Gates of Hell 20th Anniversary Tour. The set is built around that 2007 record, which came out two decades ago.
If you're not familiar with the band, they're an American metal institution fronted by Ryan Clark, who writes most of the songs and handles all their visuals. They've been at this since their self-titled debut in 2002, and Not Ready to Die (2004) got them rotation on MTV2 and a spot on the Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack alongside Slipknot and The Cure. Drummer Tim 'Yogi' Watts joined on The Triptych (2005), and Patrick Judge toured behind Storm the Gates of Hell before making his studio debut on The World is a Thorn (2010). Guitarist Jeremiah Scott came on board for True Defiance (2012), which broke into the Billboard Top 40.
Since then, they've kept a steady pace. Extremist (2014) gave them the SiriusXM hit 'The Last One Alive', and Outlive (2017) did even better on the charts. In 2019, they released two full-length albums on the same day—War and Peace—which debuted at No. 1 and No. 2 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart. In 2022, they launched their own label, Weapons MFG, with the concept album EXILE.
