Country music artist Cort Carpenter performs live at Chief's on Broadway in Nashville.
Cort Carpenter is playing Chief's on Broadway on Sunday, October 11, as part of their regular Sunday lineup. If you've been around the Nashville scene for a while, you've likely heard the name before. He's a country artist based here in the city, originally from Kelso, Washington, and he's built a reputation as one of the hardest-working unsigned acts in town. He's also one of the more popular independent names on the rise, selling out shows across the country without a label behind him.
That independent streak is a good way to get a sense of where he's coming from. He moved to Nashville in 2012, trading a promising baseball career for a microphone, and has been working his way up since. The music draws on a wide range of country influences—Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Joe Nichols, George Strait, Blake Shelton, and Dierks Bentley—so it sits comfortably in that traditional, song-driven territory. He's also picked up some recognition along the way: he was named Male Entertainer of the Year at the 2017 Josie Music Awards and earned nominations in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022.
At the start of 2023, he released his first full-length album, All In, a ten-track collection that pulls from those same influences. Even without a label, he's played the main stage at some of the country's biggest music festivals, and he was featured on the 'Next from Nashville' stage at Live Nation's Watershed.

It's a Sunday morning slot, so it's a different kind of outing than a late-night set. He'll be at Chief's on Broadway, 200 Broadway, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
