A public family day with farm animal booths, tractor rides, hay rides, kids' activities, music and food, run by the Master Gardeners of Davidson County.
Bells Bend Farm Day is back at Bells Bend Park on Saturday, October 10, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM. It's a public family day run by the Master Gardeners of Davidson County, and the whole thing is built around educational experiences for families. If you've got kids, it's the kind of morning where they can actually touch and see the things they usually only read about in books.
The day is set up as a series of stations you can wander through at your own pace. There are farm animal booths to walk through and tractors you can climb aboard, so the kids can get a close look at the machinery and the animals. Hayrides run throughout the day, and there are kids' activities, music, and food to keep you going while you're there. This year, they're adding an AgSimulator to the mix, which gives a more hands-on look at how farming actually works.
Behind the scenes, the Master Gardeners of Davidson County are the ones putting it all together. They're a group of experienced gardeners who focus on sharing what they know with the community, and this day is one of their biggest public outings. The educational side is the core of itβthe animals, the tractors, and the simulator aren't just for show; they're there to give families a real sense of where food comes from and how a farm operates.
