A guided beginner paddling adventure on Percy Priest Lake with all gear and instruction provided, suitable for all ages.
Outdoor Nashville is taking a group out on Percy Priest Lake this Saturday, October 17, for a beginner paddling session. It runs from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Hamilton Creek Recreation Area, 2901 Bell Road, Nashville, TN 37217. The whole thing is free.
If you've never been on the water, this is exactly the kind of thing to start with. It's a guided paddling adventure aimed at beginners who want a fun challenge and a way to build some confidence on the water. You don't need to bring a thing—all the gear and the instruction are provided, so you can just show up and get moving. It's open to all ages, too, which makes it an easy one to bring the kids or a group of friends along for.
The outing is part of Metro Parks' Outdoor Recreation program, which puts together a wide range of introductory activities like hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking. Outdoor Nashville is the program's outdoor recreation arm, and they run trips and instructional clinics for adults, families, youth, seniors and groups with special needs. Their staff tailors each experience to a group's goals and skill level, so whether you're completely new or just looking to get a bit more comfortable on the water, they'll work with where you're at.
