Blues and rock concert by Anthony Gomes at Chief's on Broadway.
Anthony Gomes plays Chief's on Broadway on Thursday, November 5, his only Nashville date that night. He's a Canadian vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer whose electric guitar work sits at a 21st-century crossroads of blues and rock.
He's been playing since he was 14, and the guitar has been the center of it all. Early on, he caught B.B. King's attention and opened for the King on tour dates in 2005. Since then, he's shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, and Eric Clapton, and his audiences have included Morgan Freeman, John Goodman, and Vince Vaughn. He's a songwriter as much as a player, and he handles the vocals himself.
There's a recent run of records to catch up on. His 2022 album High Voltage Blues reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart and stayed there for 58 weeks. In 2024, Total Guitar named him one of the 100 Greatest Blues Guitarists of All Time. This past April, he released his 14th studio album, Praise the Loud, on Rat Pak Records.
