A family-friendly afternoon tea session at the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, featuring hot teas from High Garden Tea while enjoying the natural surroundings.
Shelby Bottoms Nature Center is hosting Afternoon Tea on Friday, November 6, from 2 PM to 3 PM. It's a simple, slow-paced hour in the middle of the day, and it's run by the center's own staff. The whole thing is open to all ages, so you can bring the kids or just come on your own.
The tea comes from High Garden Tea, and they'll have a selection of hot blends to choose from. One of them is the Shelby Bottoms Blend, a mix named for the center itself. You can sip your tea while you hang out in the Nature Center, or if you're just passing through, you can take it to go. There's no registration required, so you don't need to sign up in advance—just show up when you're ready.
If you haven't spent much time there, the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center is an environmental education and recreation facility run by the Nashville Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation. It's a place where you can learn about the city's natural and urban landscape, the local flora and fauna, the area's cultural history, and the way nature works in this part of town. The tea is just one of the things they do there, and it's led by the same staff who keep the center running.
