An educational session about native bees, their importance to gardens and wild spaces, and how to support local pollinators, led by Elyse Dilks and Rachel Anderson.
A Fall Bees' Mead is at Warner Park Nature Center on Saturday, October 17, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. It's a session dedicated to native beesโwho they are, why they matter, and how they help gardens and wild spaces thrive. You'll meet bees you've probably never noticed, pick up some surprising facts, and find easy ways to support local pollinators, all while sipping the delicacies they offer. Elyse Dilks and Rachel Anderson are running the afternoon.
The setting is a good fit for the subject. Warner Park Nature Center is a place where people and nature come together, serving as a jump-off point for exploring more than 3,100 acres of Nashville's Burch Reserve, Percy Warner, and Edwin Warner Parks. It also works as a natural history and education reference and a resource for organic gardening and native plant landscaping. Its mission is to provide quality environmental education and responsible recreation, and to help protect, preserve, restore, and manage the park ecosystem.
