The 48th annual craft fair featuring local vendors, artwork, live demonstrations, kids' activities, and food. Free admission.
The Fall Tennessee Craft Fair returns to Centennial Park this weekend, running Friday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11. It's the 48th year the fair has been a Nashville tradition, put on by Tennessee Craft, a nonprofit that's been championing the local fine craft movement since 1965. The fair is now ranked among the top 25 premier craft art fairs in the country and usually draws around 45,000 visitors over the course of the weekend.
What sets this one apart is a signature rule: the artists have to be on-site. You aren't just buying a finished piece from a booth; you meet the makers and can watch them work. You'll see them transform raw materials—clay, wood, metal, and glass—into fine craft right in front of you. It turns the whole thing into something more than a market, since you get to see how the work actually happens.
Beyond the booths, there's a bit more going on. The fair runs an Emerging Artist Program, a curriculum-based mentorship for artists just starting out, so you'll see some newer names alongside the established ones. There's a Kids' Tent for families, food from area vendors, and artisan demonstrations throughout the weekend. It's an outdoor show, held on the Great Lawn of Centennial Park at 2500 West End Avenue, right next to the Parthenon.
