The longest-running 70's singalong in Minnesota, with Jay Fuchs and Doug Anderson leading the room through 70's hits.
The Big 70's Singalong returns to the Dunsmore Jazz Room on Sunday, October 25, with a freshly updated song list. It's billed as the longest-running 70's singalong in Minnesota, and this time it's presented by Crooners Supper Club.
Jay Fuchs and Doug Anderson lead the room, and the whole point is that you're part of it. You'll be belting out 70's hits by Jim Croce, Dolly Parton, The Eagles, Carole King, Elton John, Cat Stevens, The Bee Gees, John Denver, Olivia Newton-John, Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow and The Carpenters, following the lyrics on your phone or tablet. They also encourage you to turn up in your favorite 70's threads, so if you've got some old bell-bottoms or a polyester shirt in the back of the closet, this is the night to wear them.
Jay Fuchs hosts, playing piano and singing while leading the songs. He's a longtime entertainer, music director and music educator who has been the musical partner of Erin Schwab, the 'Bette Midler of the Twin Cities', for 26 years, and served as Music Theory Department Head at the former McNally Smith College of Music for 27. Doug Anderson joins him on vocals as a guest song leader; he's a veteran actor, dancer and performer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, with shows at the Guthrie and Chanhassen Dinner Theater and a stint performing in London.
