Watch party of Survivor episode 6 with platters at Animales BBQ Co. in the Harrison neighborhood.
Animales BBQ Co. is hosting a watch party for episode 6 of Survivor on Wednesday, October 28, from 7 PM to 8 PM. It's a simple premise: the episode on the screen and platters of BBQ on the table. If you're already following the season, it's a way to catch the latest twists with a crowd rather than on your own couch.
Animales is a good spot for this kind of thing. They call themselves "The Official Unofficial Barbeque of Minnesota," and for years they operated out of a trailer before opening a permanent home in the Harrison neighborhood, just west of downtown. It's a big space—around 12,500 to 13,000 square feet—with a full-service bar, a live music stage, a patio, and a kitchen. The watch parties are part of a wider program that includes live music, line dancing, and artist-hosted karaoke, all built around the food.
There's a bit of a milestone behind the venue, too. Animales is celebrating its first year as a brick-and-mortar spot and its eighth year of smoking meat in Minneapolis. The move from the trailer to this permanent location means they've got the room to do these kinds of events properly, with plenty of space to spread out and eat while the episode plays.

If you're in the neighborhood, it's easy to find: 241 Fremont Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55405, near International Market Square, the Sculpture Garden, and Target Field. The watch party runs from 7 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 28.
