Student matinee performances by Physics Force, a high school youth theatre company, with student tickets for $2 and free chaperone/teacher tickets.
Physics Force is coming to Northrop for a series of student matinees this January, part of the University of Minnesota's K-12 Student Matinee program. The shows run Wednesday, Jan. 13, through Friday, Jan. 15, with multiple time slots each day. The performances last about an hour and are recommended for grades 3-12.
The program is built for school groups, so it's more than just the show itself. Each performance is paired with study materials that align with state academic standards, and there are Q&A sessions with the artists afterward. There's also a Sensory Friendly Lounge available for students who need a quieter space. The whole thing is run on the idea that arts education helps build critical thinking, empathy, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.
