Panel with curator Joseph Grima and guests on the Walker Design Triennial, followed by an in-gallery activation.
Walker Cinema hosts the opening panel for the Walker Design Triennial: Beyond Materialism on Saturday, October 17, at 2 PM. The conversation kicks off the Triennial, which runs from October 17, 2026, through February 14, 2027, and sets the stage for the rest of the exhibition.
Guest curator Joseph Grima, an architect and cofounder of the design studio Space Caviar, leads the discussion alongside three guests: visual artist Navine G. Dossos of the collective VESSEL; designer and architect Eleni Petaloti, cofounder of Objects of Common Interest and LOT office; and Italian architect and designer Franco Raggi, who has worked across curation, publishing, and product design since the 1960s. The conversation asks how designers are embracing the needs of the mind and the spirit and reshaping their field to engage with societal challenges.
After the panel, you can head into the gallery for an activation of VESSEL's installation Learning to Build, Building to Learn, by James Bridle and Navine G. Dossos. You'll be able to take home complimentary fat quarters cut from the work.
