Artist talk by Rotem Zin-Tamir, guest exhibitor of the MAEP show 'Latitude 33°', followed by an informal question session at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
Rotem Zin-Tamir will be speaking at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Thursday, January 28, 2027, from 6 to 7 PM. The talk is part of the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program (MAEP), and Zin-Tamir is joined by Katya Oicherman, museum director of Congregation Mishkan Or. It's a conversation that fits right into the exhibition running around it, Rotem Zin-Tamir: Latitude 33°, which you can see at Mia from November 21, 2026, through February 21, 2027.
That exhibition is built around migration, inheritance, and belonging, and it looks at those things through objects shaped by displacement. The title comes from the cartographic line that crosses North Africa and the Middle East, a line that traces Zin-Tamir's own cultural lineage. The talk is a chance to hear the artist talk through that work and the ideas behind it while the show is still on view.
Zin-Tamir has shown at the Rochester Art Center, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, the Haifa City Museum, Locust Projects, and the Harn Museum of Art, and was a 2021 McKnight Visual Artist Fellowship recipient. The talk is co-promoted by the Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Minnesota, with support from RBC Wealth Management.

It's held in the Pillsbury Auditorium at Mia, 2400 Third Avenue South, and it's free, though you'll need a ticket. After the talk, there's an informal question session in the U.S. Bank Gallery, so you can stick around and keep the conversation going.
