A fireside chat with Amanda Brinkman about the new Minnesota PBS series Pursuit of Happiness and what makes a purposeful life.
Amanda Brinkman is coming to the Minneapolis Club on Tuesday, October 20, for a conversation about her new Minnesota PBS series, Pursuit of Happiness. It's a fireside chat rather than a formal presentation, and it's open to the public.
In Pursuit of Happiness, Brinkman travels across Minnesota, meeting people from different generations and backgrounds to look at the relationships, choices, and communities that shape our happiness. The series is three parts long, and this conversation happens just before its national rollout. The discussion is led by Minneapolis Club Membership Director Sarah Longacre, and it draws on the stories that stayed with Brinkman, what surprised her along the way, and how the whole experience has influenced her own thinking about happiness and purpose.
If you've spent any time around the local scene, you know Brinkman's work often touches on these kinds of human-centered questions, so this feels right up her alley. The whole thing runs an hour and a half, and the session includes light appetizers and a cash bar, which makes it easy to hang out for a bit before or after. It's a good one to bring a friend to, especially if you've both been chewing on the same kinds of questions lately.
