Southern rock singer-songwriter Duane Betts headlines with his band Palmetto Motel at the Fine Line Music Cafe.
Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel play Fine Line on Saturday, October 24. Betts is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Malibu, California, and a founding member of The Allman Betts Band. He first rose to national prominence in his father Dickey Betts' solo outfit and later played as a touring guitarist for indie folk icons Dawes. His 2023 solo LP, Wild & Precious Life, earned him a place among the great Southern rockers, and he now headlines with his own band, Palmetto Motel, which blends the Southern rock tradition with blues and roots rock.
The set will draw from his latest album, Isle of Hope, which came out June 12 on Sun Records. It was produced by Grammy winner Dave Cobb and recorded in just five days, during the period in which Betts lost his father and mentor, Dickey Betts. That record sits alongside Wild & Precious Life as the core of what he's playing these days, and Palmetto Motel is the band he's built around it.
