18+ indie night with DICE and The Back Alley at 7th St Entry, the smaller room of First Avenue.
DICE play 7th St Entry on Saturday, October 24, with The Back Alley opening. It's a double bill in the smaller room attached to First Avenue, and both bands bring a fair amount of ground to cover.
DICE formed around a specific idea: that young people no longer know how to communicate. The band consists of Ben Hodge, Tom King, Regan Beazley, and Sam Barrett-Lennard. That starting point—the gap in how people talk to each other—is what they're working from.
Opening for them are The Back Alley, a high-powered Chicago indie rock quintet that came together in 2022. The band formed around singer Ralph Porter and guitarist Jaden Cone, with drummer Ben Kremer and Ax and the Hatchetmen members Sal Defilippis and Hunter Olshefke rounding out the lineup. They've become a rising name in the Midwest indie scene, and they earned national recognition through their 2024 singles "Grey Skies" and "Brand New."
