A conversational music talk led by Scott Freiman, host of the public television series 'Deconstructing the Beatles', exploring the groundbreaking 1966 album 'Revolver' through rare audio and video clips.
Scott Freiman brings Deconstructing The Music LIVE to the Dudley Riggs Theatre on Thursday, October 29, at 7:30 PM. The focus is Revolver, the Beatles' 1966 album, which Freiman frames as the top album of all time in many polls and as the start of the studio experimentation that coincided with the end of their live performances.
It's a track-by-track journey through the record, and Freiman leans on rare audio and video clips to walk through the production. He spends time on songs like "Eleanor Rigby," "Yellow Submarine," and "Tomorrow Never Knows," and brings in "Paperback Writer" and "Rain" to round out the picture. If you've heard the album a thousand times, the draw here is the behind-the-scenes look at how it actually came together.
Freiman is a composer, musician, and software entrepreneur who created the multimedia series Deconstructing The Music. He's presented to sold-out audiences at Pixar, Google, and Facebook, taught a 13-part course at Yale, and co-hosts the Fab Four Master Class with Kenneth Womack. The two also co-authored The Beatles, the Touring Era: Inside the Fab Four's Musical Artistry, Song by Song, 1962-1966, published by Bloomsbury in September 2026.
