Live music night featuring Close to Toast, with Paper Beast and SYFN, as part of the club's Northeast Live Music series.
Close to Toast plays 331 Club on Friday, October 16, as part of the club's Northeast Live Music series. They're the headliner for the night, with Paper Beast and SYFN opening for them.
If you're not familiar with the 331, it's one of those spots in Minneapolis that keeps a pretty dense calendar of live music going. There's the Roe Family Singers every Monday, Womenfolk Radio Concerts on the third Monday of each month, and Lenz & Frenz on the last Wednesday. The third Thursday of the month brings Cross Pollination, a series that pairs songwriters from different genres. And on the second Sunday of every month, from 2 to 4 PM, they host Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School. Close to Toast fits into the Northeast Live Music series, which is one of the ways the club keeps the stage busy throughout the week.

This particular bill puts them at the top of the lineup, with Paper Beast and SYFN filling out the rest of the evening. It's a three-act night, so you'll get a few different sounds before the headliner takes over. The show starts at 10 PM, which puts it on the later side of things—more of a late-night run than an early evening outing. Admission is free, so it's a low-stakes way to catch a full bill of live music in the Northeast.
