Live music performance by the Minneapolis/Saint Paul brass band Brass Messengers at 331 Club.
Brass Messengers are back at 331 Club on Sunday, November 1, starting at 7 PM. It's part of their residency in the NE Minneapolis arts district, an ever-rotating, ever-evolving Sunday-night show that's become a regular fixture for them.
The band is a Minneapolis/Saint Paul collective of ten musicians who play anything that fits into twisted brass tubing. Their sets pull from three different directions: inspired originals, sing-alongs, and covers from around the globe. Because they're a ten-piece, there's a lot of brass on stage at once, and the mix of original writing and familiar songs means the night can shift from a listening room feel to something you can sing along with.
Beyond the residency, they're best known for closing out the Czech Hall Fundraiser 'Band Blast.' The 331 Club shows are a different animal—the rotating nature of the residency means the setlist changes from one Sunday to the next, so it's not the same show twice.

There's also a specific way they handle the money on these nights. The band donates 100% of its Sunday-night tips at 331 Club toward mutual aid and immigrant legal defense, and 100% of 331 Club merch sales go to the same cause. If you're planning to tip or pick up some gear, that's where it's headed. The show starts at 7 PM at 331 Club in the NE Minneapolis arts district.
