Live show by Caroline Rose, singer-songwriter and guitarist from New York, at the Fine Line in the Warehouse District.
Caroline Rose plays Fine Line on Saturday, March 13, 2027. Rose is a New York native from Center Moriches, now based in LA, and this is their Minneapolis stop.
Much of what you'll hear comes from Gentling the Horse at the Walt Whitman Mall, the 2022 album that launched their own imprint, SUCK records. It's a record of memoiristic songwriting paired with expansive guitar textures, recorded with producer John Congleton. Rather than a polished studio sound, the album was built on humor, layering and instinct. It's been described as Ennio Morricone with an AR15, where surf guitars, spaghetti westerns and suburban dread collide.
Over the last six years, Rose's music has grown alongside their organizing for stronger labor protections and collective bargaining rights for musicians and crews. That work sits behind the songs, and the songs themselves are built on the kind of sharp, personal writing that makes the guitar work feel like more than just a backdrop.
