Candlelight: Tribute to Michael Jackson

Listeso String Quartet is playing a tribute to Michael Jackson at the Granada Theatre on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The program is a long one, pulling from across his career. The tentative set includes early Jackson 5 days with "I Want You Back," the peak pop era with "Rock With You," "Billie Jean," "Say Say Say," "Smooth Criminal," "Black or White," and "Bad," and the bigger, more sweeping stuff like "We Are the World," "Man in the Mirror," "Heal the World," "Earth Song," and "They Don't Really Care About Us." "Human Nature," "Remember the Time," and "Thriller" are on there too. It's a wide sweep of the songs most people know by heart, all stripped down to strings.

The venue is the Granada Theatre, a 600-capacity historic spot in Uptown that opened in 1928 as an atmospheric movie palace in the Spanish Churrigueresque style. Its curved ceiling is designed to project stars and clouds, meant to evoke an outdoor Spanish garden. The show runs 60 minutes, with doors opening half an hour before it starts. There's no entry once it begins, so you'll want to be in your seat by 8:45 PM. It's recommended for ages 8 and over, and anyone under 16 has to be accompanied by an adult. Tickets start at $77.
