A candlelit concert in which the Listeso String Quartet reimagines Adele's greatest hits through classical string arrangements.
The Listeso String Quartet takes the stage at the Granada Theatre on Sunday, December 6, for a candlelit tribute to Adele. It's a reimagining of her songs through a classical lens, with the quartet taking over the melodies and arrangements. The whole thing runs about 65 minutes, and the set is built around the songs you already know.
The tentative program covers a lot of ground across her catalog. You'll hear 'Hello', 'Rumour Has It', 'Make You Feel My Love', 'Water Under the Bridge', 'Oh My God', 'Someone Like You', 'Send My Love (To Your New Lover)', 'Chasing Pavements', 'Skyfall', 'When We Were Young', 'Set Fire to the Rain', 'Easy On Me', and 'Rolling in the Deep'. It's a long list for a short show, so the quartet will be moving through them fairly quickly.
The venue is part of the draw here. The Granada Theatre is in Uptown, built in 1928 as an atmospheric movie palace in the Spanish Churrigueresque style. Its curved ceiling projects stars and clouds, meant to evoke an outdoor Spanish garden, and the room is known for its acoustics. The concert is one of the Candlelight series, which brings live, multi-sensory musical experiences to locations like this, and this one focuses on Adele's popular songs reinterpreted by orchestral or string quartet arrangements.
