A candlelit string quartet show in which Listeso plays a medley of 90s hip-hop classics at the Granada Theater.
Candlelight: 90s Hip-Hop on Strings comes to the Granada Theater on Saturday, November 21, 2026. It's a string quartet tribute to 90s hip-hop, with the Minneapolis-based quartet Listeso performing a medley of the era's classics. The set draws from The Fugees, Outkast, Missy Elliott, Nas, Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
The setup is part of the Candlelight concert series, which takes live music into venues chosen for their own stage presence. This one reimagines the beats and rhymes of 90s hip-hop for a string ensemble, and the room is lit only by candles, so both the audience and the musicians play inside the glow. Before the show, there's a photographer on hand to take an instant photo that you can take home.
The Granada Theater adds its own character to the night. It's a 600-capacity historic Uptown venue built in 1928 as an atmospheric movie palace in the Spanish Churrigueresque style, with a curved ceiling that projects stars and clouds to evoke an outdoor Spanish garden. The evening closes with a reminder that the performance is a tribute and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the artists, their estates or official representatives.
