Fall open studio weekend with hundreds of local artists opening their studios across four floors, live art demonstrations, interactive experiences and food trucks.
Art Attack! returns to the Northrup King Building from Friday, November 13 through Sunday, November 15, for the building's fall open studio weekend. It's one of the biggest dates on the Northrup King calendar: four floors of studios opened up to the public, with hundreds of artists who keep their creative homes in the Northeast Minneapolis complex showing their work.
If you've never been, the format is pretty straightforward. You walk through the building and into the studios, where you can meet the artists behind the pieces and see how they work. Along the way, there are live art demonstrations and interactive experiences, and plenty of handmade gifts and treasures to take home. Guest food trucks will be on site throughout the weekend, so you can grab a bite between floors.
The building describes Art Attack! as its favorite event of the year, and it's easy to see why. It's a chance to see the sheer variety of art being made under one roof, from the well-known names to the artists you've never heard of. The weekend is aimed at collectors, artists, and anyone who just likes spending a few days surrounded by creativity, and it's a good way to get a sense of the diversity of art coming out of the local community.
